HS3Yuna Yang is a New York-based designer, whose label the YUNA YANG COLLECTION features women’s high-end ‘Young Couture’. The YUNA YANG Collection harmonizes the quality of traditional couture with modern vision. Each design is an art piece inspired by Yuna’s own journey through the cultures of three continents as artist, educator, and raconteur.

Although born into a Korean family with three generations of finance and industry, Yuna loved above all the colors, textures and narratives in fine art. After her degree in fine arts in Seoul, Korea (Ewha Women’s University), she moved to Milan to drink in Italian opera and culture. She realized that fashion is her destiny and completed design studies at Instituto Marangoni. The Milan designer Alviero Martini noticed Yuna’s fine detail and Eastern perspective on Western aesthetics, and he gave Yuna the rare opportunity to design evening dresses for Milan Fashion Week 2002. Next, Yuna ventured to London. At Central Saint Martins, she worked with designers Ann Sofie Beck and Clements Ribiero and received a second B.A. in Fashion Design (2006).

Yuna moved again, this time to launch her label, YUNA YANG COLLECTION in the freedom of New York City. Critics praised her debut F/W 2010 collection; The April 6, 2010 cover of Women’s Wear Daily proclaimed that she is “a sure winner just out of the gate with her charming Louise Brooks-inspired first collection”. The S/S 2011 collection was featured in New York Magazine (“Nine Designers to Watch”) and a second cover story in WWD. Other publications featuring YUNA YANG include Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Taiwan, Vogue Korea, Elle, Manhattan (top 5 newcomer), and Mojeh Dubai (5 international designers to watch in 2012).

In 2011, 20th Century Fox Studios chose YUNA YANG to create the capsule collection for the world film premiere of “Water for Elephants” (2011). The well-received collection featured dramatic evening gowns with French lace and hand beading. Selected high-end boutiques in the US, Middle East and Asia feature the YUNA YANG COLLECTION, and Saks Fifth Avenue (Boston) hosted YUNA YANG as its marquee event for “Fashion’s Night Out” (2011).

YUNA YANG has dressed many Hollywood stars like Carrie Underwood, Kendall Jenner, Julianne Hough, Jessica Lowndes, Ann Curry, Carol Alt, Brittany Snow, Danai Gurrera, Whitney Port, Anna Gun, Darby Stanchfield etc and top celebrities in Asia.
